Web counters don't mean shit. Consider that each time a user
reloads the page, the count increments. Each time google or any
other automated bot hits the site, the count increments. Every time
you fuck up and reload the page while testing a new update, the
count increments. In short, web counters don't mean nearly as much
as they might initially seem.
Plus, consider the esteem issues. If you put up a new page about
which you feel excited, and put a web counter on it, looking
forward to seeing all the accesses to your wonderful inspiration
which will change life as we know it, then the accesses don't come
and you have a count of ten, you may feel rather defeated. Many do
not consider the every-day psychological implications of the
Internet and its usage patterns, but they exist, just like Goddess
herself.
Additionally, consider the potential security risk of a web
counter. A web counter must use a cgi script, often in a server
side include. This can introduce potential security holes, as well
as slow down the system.
Discocounter eliminates all of these problems!
- Easy to Install
- Simply paste a block of html anywhere you like on the web page.
You will find the block of code below.
- Zero Maintenance
- Once installed, you need to do nothing! No files to update, no
problems to oversee, nothing. Plus, Discocounter can work on an
unlimited number of web pages, and still suffer no additional
overhead.
- Fast Fast Fast Fast Fast
- Discocounter introduces no lag into your web pages, through the
use of new Erisian technologies. It uses no CGI or server side
includes, and does not refer to an external site to obtain the
count, so it will satisfy even the most demanding (or pain in the
ass) system administrator.
- Totally Free
- It costs you nothing. In a world where so many things cost
which shouldn't, it feels refreshing to see something of such High
standards available free of charge. Do you believe that?
